Alexander Design Group was asked to collaborate on a very unique project by Tiffany Hanken Design - a farmhouse renovation in the south of France! The farmhouse has been in the client’s family for generations - since the 1800s – and is over 3 centuries old. The farmhouse has brickwork and structural beams in varied conditions, so selecting the right team to do the job was a top priority. The project will be a massive undertaking at 8000 sq ft., and the plan is to be near completion by the fall of 2026.
The first objective of the renovation is to address the structural and safety needs of the property. The family wants the home to stand the test of time as it will continue to be passed on to future generations. The design team is tasked with finding a way to keep as much of the original, historic elements in-tact, while also working to find ways to showcase these features when possible (think beams/stonework/original tile and woodwork).
We will be accompanying Tiffany Hanken Design to the project site this March to view the progress so far. We will be sharing images, videos, and content to bring you along this amazing journey. Keep an eye out each month as we release a blog post with exciting updates. There is already so much unique content we cannot wait to share with you!
